    Talking Who will win the Epic Battle of Dan Vs. "Dick"

    Who will it be and by how much!?! This is turning out to be the "match" of the summer. I can hardly wait I've already booked off work to join the gallery!

    I predict Dan will win by 5-10 strokes. Nothing against "dick" just based on handicaps I"m goign with the percentage play. (Unfortunately I rarely do that on the course!)

    I have to go with Dan. 300 yard drives into the woods just don't add up to a winning score and Dan is sneaky consistent .

    Thotho shot a 92 the other day with a 11 on a the final hole. Unfortunately as I've learned people who post 11's... Have it in them to do it at anytime. (Trust me. I know!)

    300 is an insult. They CARRY 300!

    I was under the impression this was match play, not stroke play

    It is matchplay. If someone has a lower handicap though I' favour them.

    It's going to be match play, and although he first refused, I am leaving the option open to him to accept strokes. I am holding firm at 13.8 now, and playing well. "Dick" is in the system at 16.6, but I don't think it's up to date. I have asked him to enter his latest rounds before the match. I hope he does so soon.

    I figure I'll close him down 5 & 4. More if he declines his stroke entitlement

    27 holes this morning.
    South 45 (ick), North 37 (+1 my personal best), South 40 (nice)
    Today's stats - 89% Fairways, 59% pars, average 1.8 putts
    Included a run of 9 pars in a row from N2 to S1
    I am not worried.

    I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Richie pulls it off. It's all going to come down to timing his 11s. If he scores an 11 when Dan scores a double, he hasn't got a hope, but if he can somehow get them to coincide with the birdies and pars, he might just pull off the upset.

    There will be a playoff if tied at 18 if at all possible.

    Is it true that if "dick" wins he becomes a moderator?

    Sorry Depe,

    But I think Dan's got you on this one.

    BTW, what's a young guy like you using a belly putter for?

    My money is on the course to win! 'Dick' will lose, but neither of them will tear up the course, theres been too much 'trash talk' and I have a sneaky suspicion the 'pressure' will get to both of them!

    Have fun guys! I can't wait to hear the stories after!

    Dan will win 4&3 as he plays Manderley "lots". This will be the big advantage.
    We all wait the outcome.

    Not true. However if Dick beats Dan he does get to play me for my moderator's spot .

    One of the options in the poll is "tie" which likely won't happen. I am definately going to hand the youngster his butt on a plate.

    I agree this is getting exciting.

    Richard, just a few words of course management advice from a long hitter (but not as long as you 300yds - wow):
    You should be able to clear the ditches on S1, S7, S9, C1, C9, & N1;
    also the ponds on C1, & N5;
    and N6 I have hit it over the trees to within 30 yds short of the green so you can too (just make sure the group in front is off the green);
    and finally, John Daly cut the corner on S5 to be just short of the green (dream big!).

    Have fun Dan.
    Back at it.

    What about the avatar wager? Will the winner be allowed to choose the loser's av??

    I have the OG logo, so sorry, but no avatar change.

    I'd agree to a temporary User Title (Head Greenskeeper / Uber Poster) mod IF the proposed mod was deemed acceptable.

    More importantly (because I'd say its looking like a Kilbank win) will thotho agree to having his title and/or av changed as long as it complies with forum rules?

    Dan, I've added my new rounds into the system, brutal rounds! But a good one at mountain creek. I have eagle creek coming tomorrow and emrald links on sunday. I was supposed to play stonebridge with donny and greensmere with Zioc but the bachlor (my friend) has taken over my weekend and picked these courses for the baclor party. I was able to get donny in on the fun for saturday but zioc and me will get out monday or tuesday. Check my score card on the system on tuesday night. Fround the sounds of it I may have to take the strokes you offered. How does it work?

    Are you coming onto me??? kidding. I use the belly putter because I have developed a case of the yips and I can't putt anymore so I just moved to belly. As you saw, my putting was not bad. 28 total putts... its working for me but I've putt better. Anyway, if there was a vegas line on this I'd bet the farm on dan

    Thotho; wrong attitude man. Remember if you think you can or can't your right! (some golf instructor actually told me that) and yes I know it's Henry Ford's quote lol

    Either way you should start preparing mentally and know that if you can control your sheer physical prowess you can drive a few par 4's and OVER a few par 3's!

    I have no problem with that You can change it to whatever you like.. but I would prefer if it broke the board rules and the mods didn't approve of it
