    Prediction

We all know that Tiger is undeniably the best player of this era and questionably of all time but my prediction is he won't win the Masters this year mostly because of his knee surgery. It takes time to get back on track and he'll be rusty and out of sync.I'd be willing to bet Monopoly money on this one. 40 to 1. Tincan

    Talking Easy money...

C'mon André! 40 to 1, you can do better. I think that it will not take too much time to Tiger to get back at a sufficient level to win this tournament. When I say sufficient, it is probably at a point where most of the tour players are at their best.

But, maybe the race will be more interesting this year especially if BigEasy (!) continues to play well and if Phil Mickelson is able to handle the pressure of a major tournament. I hope that he will finally win a major and Augusta would be really great for him. He deserves to be recognized as one of the best!

André, do you accept Canadian Tire's money?

    canadian tire

Big easy. I admit 40/1 is a little steep and out of whack. I still say "le tigre" won't win it. And no I a do not accept Canadian tire money because it is real money and I could lose my shorts on this one.
However to make it more interesting maybe Ottawa Golf could offer a one year free membership to whoemever predicts the exact outcome. It would not be that big of a gamble.

Can I take it all back?
I believe this inhuman fellow aka as Tiger has WD40 running up his veins.
And with inferior equipment on top of that...:crying

    Smile

This week he definitely seemed not human or maybe no one else stepped up there game. No one seemed to have any killer instinct. Tiger looks stronger even after his surgery. I guess we can call your prediction a moment of insanity.

Thumbs down Against my better judgement I have to agree...

No offense to the talent of the man (Tigger) but I personally do not care for him. That said, he does seem stronger than before the operation.
230 yd 4 iron to within 6 feet really does say it all (into the wind I believe). Top it off with a 300 yd 3 wood second shot on the 613yd par 5.

Perhaps they did more than the arthroscopic (sp?) work? Maybe some bionics are now in there???

    I digress.

    Tigggger!

Its Simple, Phil called him out, and Tiger took him to school... Maybe Els will have better luck with the Wood... We shall see. Hope all are having a fun day.

Yep, I think this week's win proves that Tiger himself doesn't think he's attained his goals.

He can still get fired up (by Mickelson).

And I still think he feels he's fighting to catch up to Nicklaus' records. I look to him for a few more suprises this year. And if he expects to collect more green jackets than Arnie and Jack (I forget who made that prediction), he can't keep letting them slip by.

At 7500+ yds (not to mention the win at Bethpage Black), I think a win at this course shows that Tiger has a distinct advantage at the longer tracks. The Masters is a longer track now, and it's going to take a great deal of effort for anybody to beat him there... and Els showed us last year that too much effort isn't a good thing.

I think that Mickelson and Els can probably bomb it past Woods when they swing all out, but if they all swing at normal swing speeds, then Tiger probably still hits it further. Tiger, however, has learned that he's more likely to win when he's not coming out of his shoes on every shot (even if it looks like he is to us mere mortals).

Also Tiger does not need it off the tee, as he showed everyone on holes 15 and 18 on Sunday. In deep rough, around trees, 240+ with a 4 iron, who is going to beat that?

    Tiger...

Yes Tiger was impressive. In fact, he was awesome.
His legs look stronger and his upper body is just as strong.

Yes phil made a mistake challenging him. He really paid the price.

But let's look at who he beat. Phil and a bunch of others. Who has played well this year?

    Mike Weir...did not play
    Ernie Els...did not play

I don't want to take anything away, but I look forward to him playing guys who are on a roll. Guys who have won this year.

    Hmmmmm

My understanding the knee surgery isn't the problem, it's the lay off, and he doesn't seem to be phased. I'm sure with Els and Weir finding their zone it will be a great event.

    GO Mike!!!!

Cool this week should be interesting

Seeing as most of the top ten (- Els / Singh) are going to be there this week, it should be more of a challenge (I hope).

also.......your right about the surgery compared to to time off.

    Michelson

I noticed that Phil Michelson was also not listed in the field. Any particular reason?

I saw on the Golf Channel that Vijay has a sore rib, or something like that, and is saving himself for the match play event.

    Cool gee thanks Colby

No I did not pick VJ / Mickelson / Els.

VJ was listed in field on Monday but was gone by Tuesday.

Mickelson and Els were not on the list at all. But there were some real choices that had to be made this week. Not as easy as it has been.

We'll see soon enough, who gets the bragging rights!
