I haven't played them but reviews say these are some nice courses in the area:

Golf La Tempete - in Breakeyville just south of Quebec City - Graham Cooke design - pricey ($150 on weekends)

Manoir Richelieu - about 1 hr to 1h30 east of Quebec City - nice course

Le Grand Vallon - at the base of the ski hill Mt Ste Anne - also a nice course

Depends on your budget. Played the Albatros 2 weeks ago(close to the Airport) Nice little track beautiful tricky greens and $35 on weekends.

There is also one on Ile D'orleans. Golf St-Laurent I think it's called. Surrounded by the St-lawrence River. Best guys to talk to here are RoyalQ and Powerdraw.

Used to would be the correct terminology.

Haven't played any of the 3 I listed but La Tempete seems much more spectacular than Le Grand Vallon.

In the $40 range, I wouldn't know what's in or around Quebec City for that price range...
