    Most frustrating golf shot

In your opinion what is the most frustrating golf shot? IMO the double hit ranks way up there. What about you? any other shots

Right now, any shot I hit is the most frustrating.

Right now, all shots are frustrating cause I can't hit ANY OF THEM Well I guess I could go putt, yeah that's what I am going to do next weekend. Play 18 holes on the greens only! 2 putt every green, will that count as an even par round?
My opinions are my own, I do not follow others.

The sideways chip. 30 yards from the green in 2 on a par 5. than you chip it 3 feet forward 8 feet right... Cool man; Cool man!!!

I forgot to mention that I voted for all of them except Whiff. That is about the only shot I have yet to see this year so far.

For me the chunky chips are surely the most aggravating, as indicated by the poll results as well. This year my chipping game is suddenly coming alive, from making one small change. I no longer shorten my grip to chip, I just shorten my swing and smooth it out, ZERO wrist bending. Seems to be working much better, not chunking anymore, and going by the hole mostly instead of short all the time. We all know you gotta go by to go in right?

Chilli-dipping a chip is the most frustrating for me. You've hit a good drive, approach just squirts off the green, you think to yourself "a nice firm chip to the hole is needed and then tap it in for a well earned par". You take a few practice swings to get the feel needed to find your target on the green so that the chip runs down to the hole.........all set, swing, chunk, ball goes about a foot and stops dead.....aggghhhh. Then you bloody 3 putt from there, a prospective par or at worst bogie becomes a double or triple.

Another one, that is not mentioned is the fat shot, not only do you look like an idiot trying to dig up the course with your club, the ball goes about 10 yards and you are pretty much faced with the same shot that you will invariably skull as you are so worried as not to hit it fat again.

    I picked

    missed 3 footers
    O.B
Hook into bush, although I would like to extend that to hook in general, you will not see me any more digusted w/ myself than when I play an iron to the green and let it miss to the right, a foot off the green, or 20ft wide, it's all the same to me as it's never the shot I was trying to produce (i'm a lefty)
and finally I picked the chip...one of the worst feelings is decelerating @ the last second and stubbing a chip 1/2 way to the hole.

I said shank, but truly the most frustrating is not on list: Leaving putts short.

Everyone is not perfect and can skull one, shank, out of bounds, it happens.
But everyone can hit a putt past a hole, and I regularly come up short never giving it a chance.

I had mine yesterday. About a 30 foot uphill putt for birdie on a par 3. Playing partner asks if I want the flag tended, and I say no problem... I can see it. Bend down to place my ball, get back up, then proceed to putt to within inches of the hole.

Walk up to tap it in (was wondering why my partner didn't give me the putt...) and notice that I was putting at a brown spot which was an old pin placement... the actual hole is about 8-10 feet away. End up missing the par putt because I was so pissed.

The Double hit usually shows it's ugly head once or twice a year, and that is pretty fustrating, but putting for birdie from 8 feet and going on to 3 jack from there has to take the cake.

Nothing worse than the shanks. The club feels like bomb just waiting to go off.

Leaving chip in the same spot by far, its the only one where the ball didnt actually go anywhere. Except for a whiff, at least a whiff doesnt count as a shot.

If you address the ball to make a shot then swing and miss it's a stroke.

    Actually, it does:

    Stroke
A “stroke’’ is the forward movement of the club made with the intention of striking at and moving the ball, but if a player checks his downswing voluntarily before the clubhead reaches the ball he has not made a stroke.

I voted for the shank. Everything else I can seem to fix or might just happen once in awhile. When I get the shanks, it seems like nothing will fix it and it doesn't go away very easily....

I love these kinds of posts!

    haha!

I voted for the Slice in the woods, cause this has been my biggest problem this year so far (anybody wants to buy a driver? hehe). But I'd say that leave a chip at the same place is pretty frustrating too. When that happens, its usually due to a drop of shoulders and lack of concentration (for me anyways).

Oh well... I love this game.

I voted for the skull, because i just returned from the course , one shot i skulled the lob wedge right across the green into a bunker , and another later skulled the same freekin lob wedge over a bunker across the green and into a pond so, its skull for me!
At the end of the day ... It gets dark

The Chilli-dip Chunky Chip drives me insane! How hard is it to hit the ball with a short easy swing! Bloody short game is driving me to drink! Well, I would be drinking anyhow but I can still blame that part of my game for all of my life's woes!

Gotta love the 3 foot miss. Especially when you're left with another 3 footer to miss again. I shake every time I have one of those. It's a damned if you make (you were supposed to) or .....

Chunking a chip. It should be about the easiest shot. You only take the club back a few inches. But I stick the club in the ground behind the ball once or twice a round.

I voted fo the 3 foot miss, because it is my nemesis. But probably the most hurtful to your score is the skulled bunker shot. Nothing worse than being in a greenside bunker in regulation (or maybe even in 2 on a par 5) and then firing a skull sand blast into lost ball land, terrifying your fellow competitors, and possibly hitting into another group and/or losing the ball.

Not that its ever happened to me.

Aw come on fellas how can anything be more discouraging than watching a perfectly good swing ding a hozel rocket 45 degrees right, and then facing the next shot wondering if (knowing) it's gonna happen again?

I circled a green once doing this and I wanted to crawl under a rock. Gimmie a chili-dip any day!

    Can I vote twice??
