    This is a crying shame, especially for a tournament with such a storied history. But it really isn't too surprising given the voracious appetite that the tour has for $$$$. I bet that if they gave Ms. Wie a slot, they'd have no problem meeting the purse requirements - sponsors would be lining up - and selling every one of their tickets.

    You're right, but the sad part is Wie would probably snub them even if she were offered a slot. Too much of a podunk tour for her.
