TaylorMade Rac TP 2005 Cavity Backs

Hey guys. I've decided to sell my babies off for another set. TaylorMade Rac TP 2005 Cavity Backs 3-pw. Clubs are in great shape, with average bag wear and a little chatter for a really soft forging. The only real blemish on these clubs is a scuff on the heel of the 7 iron from hitting an unknown rock. Isn't a ding but some scratches that Chieflongtee buffed out a little at his place. You can see the marks but they feel smooth, in no way could they affect play! These puppies are shafted with UST Tour Weight Graphite shafts in X-Flex,. nice looking black shafts same ones that Scott Verplank currently plays. They play like an s300 in my opinion or a Rifle 6.0. Chief also CPM'd these shafts and apparently they were perfect. Gripped with new this year Winn V-17 AVS XF grips in a dark blue. Clubs play at standard Graphite length. These things are beautiful!! I will try and post some pics tonight as i'm sure someone will want pictures. I figured id post them here first and if i don't get any bites they will go off to golfwrx.com or 4gea and then Ebay. My asking price is 600$ and that is firm, no movement from me on this. These clubs still sell for i believe 1299$ at Golftown and were 1499$ last year. Grab em and i promise you will fall in love. PICS ATTACHED FURTHER DOWN.

The buyer will also get two UST Tour Weight Wedge shafts that were pulled from my 52 and 60 degree wedges and i can also throw in a pulled Penley ETA 75 Xflex shaft that played 44" in a comp gripped with a gp MultiCompound Grip.

Those clubheads are really nice for sure, but I'm confident you'd get more bites if they had steel shafts in them. I don't know a lot of low handicap players who use graphite shafts in their irons.

Good luck with the sale though.

Well for one they are lighter therefore you can increase swing speed a little. They are more shock absorbing than any steel shafts out there. Great if you have shoulders and elbow problems. Does KJ Choi have a low enough handicap for you?

Agreed Chief, there really is a misconception that Steel is better than Graphite in irons and i couldn't disagree anymore.

    Good read.

I was speaking on more of a local basis, and even the PGA Tour guys. I'd say 95% of them have steel for shafts. Not saying those shafts are bad, just saying that most people look for the steel when they're buying clubs.

OK. Why is that? $$$$$? Most everyone uses a graphite shafted driver?

Guys, if you want to talk about the benefits of graphite vs. steel please start a thread in OEM or Clubmakers please.

99% of tour players use a steel shaft in their irons, it was in one of the latest golf magazines.

The question is why? Who really cares what Tour players use, we are far from tour players.
