    Sand Traps

It seems to me that more and more courses drag something over the sand to remove footprints, but never do anything more than scratch the surface of the sand. The result is that there is a fine layer of dust, then baked solid sand-mud, that any club just bounces off. I sit too much to ask that the sand be dug over to loosen it, so that it is possible to play a proper sand shot to exit a bunker?
