Most public courses are OK with them. If you are playing a private course, you may want to check. When I played the Royal Montreal a few years ago, I had to put long pants on as the socks I was wearing with my shorts were ankle socks and I would have had to buy longer socks to play there in shorts.

Emerald Links doesn't allow sandals, and they enforce it. I was bitter. They're off my "living on a golf course" possibility list.

So now if you are booked on the 20th for the Forum FUN day, pray that you don't get paired up with me cause even if it is 20 below, I am wearing sandals!
You see Spidey, I live by the saying 'the clothes don't make the man'..... I do not judge a person by how they look, what they wear, what they eat or what they do. I judge a man by the respect he accords to others

I wear my sandals when I am playing in a fun tournament environment. It helps get rid of those sock tan lines!

My sandals are great for dry courses. But when it's wet, it's like a water slide under my feet.

Sandals are just as good if not better in my opinion. I have owned multiple of both sandals and regular shoes. I can't feel any difference in my swing between them. Maybe the people who say sandals shouldn't be worn ever need therapy over there hatred for toes. It's a comfort thing. And they are comfortable. If you like hot sweaty feet over comfortable feet....be my guest.

That is a great link.
There was a guy on a green with a pair of flip flops & socks, about 1/3 of the way down the page.
so socks & sandals are the new mullet?

You should try sandals once, they are really comfortable.

Simply, if you're on a golf course, and you play like everybody else, dress like everybody else and talk like everybody else, you're much more likely to fit in with everybody else.
....which is not to say that I necessarily do that.spidey

Who cares what people wear and don't wear.....I remember a time when you could only wear collared shirts...now with the "Tiger Look", Mock Necks are becoming a norm at alot of places with new golfers. wow that must be a new record 2-3 actual posts then totally off topic..not a matter of why you should or shouldn't. it was a matter of which courses don't allow them.

The courses that don't allow them are just snobbish in my opinion...
