My everyday beer is Coors Light, love it when its on for $19.56 across the river!

I'm on a big Hoegaarden kick right now, very nice beer to have while eating a salty meal.

Guinness is my winter beer and it's great when having greasy pub food, but getting drunk off it will make you regret it in the morning.

Bass is another good English beer but not as common on tap.

And of course Corona or Barvaria on a hot day sitting on a patio downtown watching the (enter sex of choice here!) is also very nice.

I have to venture into the other aisles of the beer store. With your list spackler and LobWedge's list I'm going beer crazy. Haven't even heard of most of these beers.

Only the Grolsch is a beer, it's Dutch and it's ok not really anything super special. I like it because it's better than Heineken and I've got to support the world cup effort. It's not far away now.

Depends what you're after with beer, if it's just refreshment, I like Euro lagers: Stella, Pilsner Urquell, Harp, Kronenburg, Grolsch, Becks, etc. are great. If you want flavour, go Belgian. I especially like the trappist beers like Leffe Blonde and Chimay. Belgians are the newfies of Europe, but they make fantastic beer. Also some of the British Ales like Tetley's.

I threw in a few whiskys because I think FunDonny should try something other than Johnny Walker Blue.

whatever man, I'll all about the girl drinks. I have a really weak stomach and I puke almost anytime I drink anything else. I can't do hard shots, I can't drink black label and water. The drink has to have some non booze taste to it. Hell, even smirnoff gives me heart burn!
PS girls like guys who drink girlie drinks.

    > The above ; unfortunately only as friends most of the time.

Personally I like any kind of beer. It all tastes alright some better than others but there is method to my madness. I'm not drinking it soley for refreshment but for inebriation. Even if it's only a slight level therefor the means is less important than the end.

Filthy black rum with just a splash of coke. Then, steal the lime out of the Corona and put it in a real drink! Mmm.....

Ice cold MGD on a patio at the end of a warm summer day

Guinness at a pub, expecially with authentic pub food (only 1 or 2 though...any more just doens't feel right) - Old Speckled Hen does the trick here as well

Hoegarden when you want to go a little classy...great with steak...wheat beers in general are just wicked

Corona with lime when you want to down em quick

and of course, colt 45 when you're just that poor and you need to get the job done (hey, gimme a break, I'm a starving student)

^^ Colt 45 is terrible, thankfully there are better options at only slightly higher prices.

For me, it's Keiths when I'm not in school and have more cash in the bank. During the school year, it's MacLay's or Lakeport. Prefer MacLay's - it's actually the best dollar beer IMO.

I can't stand green bottle beer, not sure what it is, but I find it all bitter tasting - especially Heiniken and Grolsh (sp?).

Oh, I know, Colt is terrible, but its the best 8% you can get, and quite drinkable if its ice cold

hahaha, drinkable is a subjective term, but you're right, it's does the trick. The taste gives me nightmares though - wow.

But to drink it all from that big bottle before it gets warm is tough. Then the nightmares start.

Also, I go to school in BC, where there is no such thing as buck-a-beer. Cheapest anything you can get is about 22 bucks for 15, if you're lucky.

That's all I've seen around here. Can't buy them in anything but the big boys.

And as for Schlitz, don't even mention that name around some of my friends. Poison in a bottle to them. Nothing but bad morning after (and even night of) memories for them a la Schlitz.

Right, I gotta get used to the Ontario selection again - four months and a lot of bbq and golf should do it though. I still can't get over the fact that Lucky, the Vancouver Island Beer, is much cheaper here than it is there.
