What is the best goal you have ever seen? (hockey)
For me it has to be wayne. The puck was in mid air chocked down on his stick and does a full slap shot out of mid air and put its into the net. He must have been a between the faceoff circle to the right of the goalie and the blue line. It was amazing to see in slow motion. The own nolan goal in the all star game against Hasek was pretty cool as well, he's on a break away.. takes one hand off his stick and either points at hasek or called the corner he was shooting for and scored. Awesome.. To me those lacrose style goals... like this one

Spezza's overtime goal early this season against Montreal was definitely one of the best, until I saw Ovechkin score from his back with the stick over his head. Unreal!

Is that the one where the cut infront of the goalie, kinda went sideways for a second and roofted it? if that is the one, its the same kind of goal datsuk scored the previous year and TSN voted it the number one goal that year

In addition to Ovechkin's goal while on his back, Marek Malik's shootout goal this year was amazing too....shooting the puck between his legs totally surprising the goalie. One expects Ovechkin to score unbelievable goals...not so with the gangly ex-Canuck Malik.

That was an amazing goal.
I can't remember who but a few years ago there was a guy on COL who did spin without the puck while airborne I think and and shot the puck between his own legs and the goalies legs. anyone know who it was?

What about that Michigan player a few years back that was behind the net, put the puck on his stick blade, and just put it in the net.
The best goal was the one I already talked about, best goal of all time. 2002 olympics, Kariya's one timer that Lemieux let go. Can't remember who did the initial pass, I think it was Sakic. That was the best 'team' goal ever. No hod dog.Donny Vantage NFL Guru, since 1974

Sittler!!
How 'bout these three by Sittler (sure, they're not from a game, but they were cool!):
When 'they' used to have the skills contests between the 2nd and 3rd periods, Darrell Sittler was up against someone in a breakaway contest with Grant Fuhr in net (top goalie at the time). Each player got three breakaways and the most goals won. To make a long story short, Sittler scored three times and each time he did it through the 5-Hole. Through the legs against Fuhr three times in a row!! It was absolutely amazing. I believe one of the shots was from the middle of the circle, too!
I'm guessing this was about 20 years ago. Anyone remember this?

I think I was 8 and pretending I was Stan Smyl or King Brodeur at the time.

I think the Ove goal where he is on his back has been the best one that I've seen.

I think the best goal I have seen in hockey was the one from a few years ago in US College hockey. I can not recall that players name, but he came around the net and did the lacross trick. Got the puck up on the blade and whipped it into the net!
It was a thing of beauty!
In the OHL this year, David Bolland of the Knights has scored some highlight goals too. It's amazing the talent some of those young players in the OHL have.My opinions are my own, I do not follow others.

lame, why dos this get so much press as a great goal? he jumped well after shooting it, not scored while flying through the air.
what this is is the best "picture" in hockey goals. but the goal itself is just another normal run of the mill goal!

well, i guess it depends what you're considering great. This is probably the most immortal and unforgetable of goals. You're right, not the most incredible goal, or requiring the most talent, but still a pretty nice goal, and the circumstances make it one of the best ever. That picture of Orr flying through the air is one of the defining hockey images, and as such it deserves some recognition.
