Based on reason thread activity, now seems like the right time to formalize this.

Assuming thotho can make the OttawaGolf Tournament, and I think we should try and fit it to his schedule, I will now officially start the bidding to be part of his foursome, assuming I can make it. If I cannot make the event I will still offer my "prize" and donate my spot.

I would like to add my prize to the long-drive hole or perhaps one of the closest to the pins.


My bid:

One dozen Srixon AD-333, microwaved at medium for 45 seconds.
One small container of Vaseline. I don't remember the size in ml, but it's the small jar.
One small jar of Kraft smooth peanut butter. No crunchy or organic stuff for me.

I'd like to see the results if anyone tried to microwave some of the old balata balls that I may still have. The rubber bands on those Titleist were tightly wound around a rubber ball filled with a liquid. I suspect that with the rising heat generated by microwaving those balls would literally cause them to explode. Good bye microwave. But what the heck, it would make for another great Thotho story. Thotho, do you want to conduct an experiment if I can locate some old golf balls for you?

I'm changing my bid;

As jvincent already has the peanut butter and vaseline I'f decided to spice it up a bit.

The balls stay except I've decided to really push the envelop and throw them in for a whopping 65 seconds.

In lieu of the Vaseline; I'm willing to donate a half used bottle of lubiderm I found in my old roomates closet after he moved out.

In lieu of the Peanut butter; I'm willing to donate a Ram form forged 5i w/ graphite shaft. I'll still throw in the 2 packets of jam though.

I think you guys have it all wrong.

In order to be in Thotho's group you have to come up with a NEW crazy antic and not just repeat the old stuff.

For example:
You could carry a launch monitor with you, use it for every shot, ignore where the "actual" ball ended up, and drop a ball where the LM said it should be. It's like taking the simulator to the course.

Have all your odd numbered clubs play right handed and even play left handed...maybe a double sided putter.
