The easiest way i sto get car touch up paint with the little brush. Paint over top of th eold stuff an wipe clean if you got any on the actual club. Takes about 5 mins to a set and it looks like new afterwards.

Thanks Denny. Going to try the GW paint pens first. Small little tip, should be easy to manipulate in the etchings.

I used household primer on my Cleveland wedges once, worked awsome.
Its the same flat white finnish that Cleveland uses.
I wiped it over the lettering using my finger, then wiped off the excess with a rag.
    Couldnt tell they were re-painted

Here are my babies next on the block are the clevelands... Got a cammy maple leaf headcover a few weeks back, and I'm working on the canadiana bag ... red and white for the red of the bag coming soon (except the actual bag, which is sweeeeeeet as is )

so far the fill has survived multiple rounds w/o any wear....unlike the irons themselves, who are easily banged up w/ bag chatter...

p.s. the photos do NOT do them justice .. must be seen in person

Those 731.PM's are sweet looking sticks! To bad they didn't do a righty version but I guess they would have to change the PM. Nice touch up work!

Nat, just completed the irons and wedges. Looks pretty neat. How long did you wait before removing the excess that overflowed out of the cracks? And will giving it a quick wipe with acetone remove it without taking out the paint? Oh yeah, how long should I wait for it to dry before I attempt to remove the excess?

I left 1/2 of them overnight, and the other 1/2 I did the next morning and only let sit for 20 mins.

I was a little more gentle w/ the ones I let sit for 20 mins ... but I guess it all comes down to what kind of paint you use ....the automotive paint was fast drying ... the second it was dry I could wipe off the excess.

I'd say if the deepest fills (probably the numbering on the sole) is dry t othe touch, then you are good to go

Thanks, want them looking prime for the first round at the course tomorrow.

And if anyone is interested, acetone will take off old paint fill in minutes if you drop your irons into a bucket filled with it. Great stuff.

Forgot to mention what the finished product looked like. I'll try to get pics if I can.

But if you look at the pic posted earlier in the thread I put blue in the numbers on the soles. The line on the sole of the 6 and 9 iron was made yellow. The Titleist was put yellow. The 990-B was put white. The line above the DCI mark was put yellow. The triangle of the DCI was put blue. And the DCI was put white. For a first time it looks pretty good.

Also did my 54 and my 58.

For the 54: on the sole I did the 54 in blue. There is the small mark to denote degrees and I put that yellow.

For the BV insignia I did the lines white, the BV and 254-10 etchings were done in yellow. The Vokey Design is white and Titleist is yellow.

For the 58: On the sole I did the 56 (club bent to 58) in blue. Titleist is in yellow. I painted the ports blue. There is an etching BF '96/2500, the BF, '96 and 2500 are white. The / is yellow. The word forged is on the wedge and it is yellow.

Only thing I hope now is that the colour doesn't come off/fade too quickly. I know the colour on the sole will be gone in a few rounds but it was fun anyways.

I recommend trying this, a good way to customize your irons.

Funny guy. You're going to have to wait until at least the weekend.

    I guess. Sheesh!

If I don't like the colours, will you change them pre-sale?

    Geoff,

    Ever considered golfing naked?

By naked I mean no paintfill....honestly...

I have no painfill in my Mp-30's and it looks great. I get comments from everyone that sees them. They look unique and almost prototype-esque...

I was thinking that. They looked pretty cool with no paintfill. If this paint doesn't last I might try it. Thanks for the idea.
