re: choosing a set of iron heads
how do you pick? with stuff sold at golftown you can go in and hit the clubs. what do you do for irons you are building yourself (or paying someone to build them for you). Anyway, I was looking at the Ke4 and the kzg... any suggestions? reviews?

KZG. Pick the style and price point you like. You won't regret it.

Golfworks on Industrial has demo clubs. I don't know about KZG as I never tried them. It depends what you are looking for in a set of clubs. Are you looking for blades or muscle backs. Forged or cast? Shovels or not? Oversize or regular? Offset or progressive offset or very little offset. Bendable for loft or lie?(most cast heads can only be bent 2 degrees) Weight adjustable or not.(weight port) Lots of questions to be answered. Are looks important to you?Once you've narrowed it down you can order some demo 5 irons. Otherwise go see a fitter.Professional clubmakers should have demos on hand with different flexes for you to try. Just my 0.02

Clubmakers will have some demos. Some clubmakers will even figure out what you need, then build you an iron to try out for length, flex, etc. No sense in building a whole set until you are sure the customer is happy.
If you will keep them for several years then KZG are nice, but I found pretty expensive new with respect to a resale that will be pretty low (relative to a heavily advertised brand). That is why I bought mine used.
You should already know where you can demo the maltby M45's, although the shafts may be a bit soft for your 120mph swing .

the swing speed is down to 100 again. I was losing to many balls. My inst. was pretty pissed off when he asked me to swing a driver. asked me what the hell I was doing. asked me if that was how hard I hit my 7 iron as well.. hahah
Anyway, thanks for the tips guys. Let me narrow it down. DAN, which KZGs do you have? CHI-II?

Hi,
I just bought a set of KZG MC-IIs (with flighted Rifle precision shafts). Have been to the range once and played 18 once with them. They have a great feel to them and are higher + straigter than my old clubs. Looking forward to my next round with them to see how they fare.
Cheers,
