Honma Drivers
I was just on Golf Town's website looking at drivers and they have some VERY expensive drivers (starting at $1,000) by a company called Honma Golf. Has anybody heard of these drivers before? Based on their description, looks like they are directed toward golfers without a tremendous amount of skill or those with some physical handicap.
I'm a 12 - 14 handicap. Even if I had oodles of money to spend on clubs, what would these do for me over that of the new Nike, TM, etc drivers at more than half the price?Rob

These clubs are for the rich and famous.. Donald Trump plays Honma.. Personally though I have never hit them, don't like the look at all.. I believe Starvingstudent has hit them and said they are amazing. If I had the money to buy em, I think I would by more Titleist instead...

Honma Woods Quality
Please take a look at my other postings I sent a few days back. To answer the question on the Honma Drivers, The quality is excellent, I have a set of Honma Twin Mark 420 RF Series Driver 9 Degree and the 3 and 5 wood all with Stiff Shafts. I paid about $2000.00 Usd and have not a single problem or shortcoming with the product. I have had them for about 2 years now, and fortuunantly get to use them over a hundred times a year, and I am very pleased.
I highly recommend them if you are looking at comparable clubs in this range / dollar value.
But even more so I recommend spending some extra coin if at all possible on golf lessons with a good pro no matter what the skill level of the person is to help smack that wonderful, annoying white ball better with whatever choice of clubs a person uses. I would say that ranks with all my golf friends as probably the least important dollar value item numerous players dig into their wallet for. High end, expensive clubs don't always make you have a better golf game, but lessons with a good teaching pro sure can.
Regards, Sheldon
