Wow it probably took lob wedge longer to figure out those yardages then it takes me to play a round of golf but I did enjoy it emensly!! My yardages are about the same as dbleber and starving student except I'm a little shorter with the wedges and my 21 degree 5 wood only goes about 215 carry.

A friend got a hold of a vector for a few days and hooked it upto his laptop, must say its an amazing machine! I've been in his basement the last few days hitting balls with all my getting my yardage down. I took 25 shots with every single club in the bag over last few days and dropped the 5 highest and 5 lowest distances and averaged them out. This is what I got and this is what I'm going to with into my first round and see how it goes. Of the 15 shots I averaged out, they range between the highest and lowest distance was less in terms of the final average (as a %) with the wedges and shorter irons and higher as we moved up. Patern held true for every club right from SW to driver. Variance was only 6% with wedge and was 11% with driver. Do I have to much time on my hands? Yes.. but if you had a vector machine and the time I had (mid terms just finnished) I'm guessing some of you might have done the same

Distances
Driver 270-280 carry (tons of spin very little roll...usally 290 to 310 total)
3wd 240-250 carry
3 hybrid 220
4 hybrid 210
5 iron 205
6 iron 190
7 iron 170
8 iron 155
9 iron 145
pw 130
SW 95
LW 80
Ridiculously high trajectory on everything, tons of spin on the driver, short irons land like they were dropped out of a plane with no spin, wedges go farther up than forward!

Looks like SMT boy has some club head speed!!!! I would guess 118 to 120 mph with the driver. If you hit all your irons with a lot of height it will give you a big advantage with your long irons,(can you say Tiger Woods). Sounds like your a player but if your from England it might be better to learn to keep those shots down under that wind

I am humbled by those distances. 300+ yards with a driver. Now I really feel old. How many stokes are you long hitters prepared to give me in a little money game? I'm just a shortish hitting 57 year old. Game, anyone?

I have convinced myself that straight is better than long - almost
Some strange gaps between irons, but as my partners point out, its hard to hit it far when wearing high heels or trying to hold onto my purse. I did hit my driver 280 last year at the Old Windmill last year in August , same carry as always, just lots of roll.
