I wore a pink shirt once and my friends started calling me paula because she wears pink as well... then someone did a "whats in my bag" on her and found out that we carry the same selection of clubs (except I carry a 5w and she carries a lw) and even the yardage is pretty much the same... she might be a bit more accurate.. and by a bit I mean a hell of a lot more

These were my yardages last year but should go up a lot since I've been working outl ike a mad man. Also, those yardages were with my G5 fairway woods.. which could go up or down... and the driver was an 11.5 G2, guess we will find out

    Driver: 235 to 245 carry
3 wood: 225 to 245 carry (off the tee); 220 to 235 carry off the deck
2 Hybrid: 200 to 215 off the deck
3 Hybrid: 185 to 200 off the deck
4 Hybrid: 175 to 185 off the deck
    5 iron: 170 to 180 - average swing: 174
    6 iron: 158 to 168 - average swing: 163
    7 iron: 148 to 157 - average swing: 152
    8 iron: 138 to 146 - average swing: 144
    9 iron: 128 to 136 - average swing: 132
    PW: 118 to 126 - average swing: 122
    52 SW: 100 to 115 - average swing: 105
    59 LW: 60 to 88 - average swing: 75

The ranges that I get depend on the weather conditions as well as on how I'm swinging and how far I intend to hit the ball. For each club, I have an average distance, but I can usually vary it within limits.

If you are within 7% of your yardage on a shot you are doing pretty good. Sometimes up 7% more and somtimes 7% less. If I was dead on everytime I would be on the tour and be the most acurate player on tour

This time of year with new clubs?

    No idea.

Based on my 1 round so far-

    Driver-200-230
    4wd-50 yds
    7wd-190
    5i-160
    6i-70
    7i-140
    8i-125+
    9i-50-120
    pw-100
    gw-50-90
    lw-40
    putter-it floats

As you can see, i have some tinkering to do. With my swing, mostly. Ask this question again in july when it's hot & the 100compression balls are going 250+.

But you still deserve that I post mine

Here's what I believe mine are. Just like mpare, I can usually vary my distances, especially 5iron to 54* wedge, but I'll post my averages.

    Driver: 255 carry
    3-wood: 235 carry
    5-wood: 220 carry
    3 iron: 195 carry
    4 iron: 190 carry
    5 iron: 180 carry
    6 iron: 170 carry
    7 iron: 165 carry
    8 iron: 150 carry
    9 iron: 140 carry
    47* PW: 135 carry
    56* SW: 105 carry
    60* LW: 70 carry

Swingspeed with driver is between 98 and 105 mph and with 6 iron, between 82 and 88 mph.

All woods are about 15 yards less than 'thotho' and all irons about 10 yards less.

Good lord!!!!!!!!! Well after having seen what everyone else has posted as their distances and since even Little Brit has my butt beat except for the driver, I think I will avoid posting mine!

You could always just lie like all the other golfers in the world.

    Here are my honest distances:

    Driver 500 yds
    3W 410 yds
    5W ...

Here are my yardages from the end of last year:

    Driver 260-270
    3W 235
    5W 225
3i (broken - in a fit of anger ... actually a cheap set of clubs)
    4i (broken)
    5i 190
    6i 180
    7i 170
    8i 160
    9i 150
    PW 140
SW (don't ever use it because of the bounce)
    LW 110

I got "new to me" irons for X-mas so all the yardages will probably change.
    Back at it.

Yardages don't equate swing speed and true length because the lofts on every manufacturer is so different. A PW can be 50°-45° that is a huge difference. So if someone in your group pulls out is 9 Iron and you have to hit an 8, it doesn't mean that he can hit farther than you. But then again if you both have the same clubs or loft then obviously it's you!

All my average carry distances, I can squeeze another 10 yards out of each club but my accuracy goes down:

    Driver 265 yds
    3W 240 yds
5W Just got it, wait and see 225-230 hoping
    3i 205 yds
    4i 190 yds
    5i 180 yds
    6i 170 yds
    7i 160 yds
    8i 150 yds
    9i 140 yds
    PW 130 yds
    54° 110 yds
    58° 90 yds

Wow, you lot can sure whack it!!

    Me:

Driver - too inconsistant to tell
    5W 200 yards
    7W 175-180 yards
    4i 160-170 yards
    5i 150-155 yards
    6i 140-145 yards
    7i 130-135 yards
    8i 120-125 yards
    9i 110-115 yards
    PW 100-105 yards
AW depending on length of swing 75-100 yards
SW depending on length of swing 50-70 yards
LW depending on length of swing 65-35 yards
    Putter 0.5 inch - 100 feet

As you can see, some of you can hit your PW as far as I hit my 5i
I am looking to put a bit more distance into my game so I can hit higher shots into greens so they have more of a chance of staying on the green.

how do you guys figure out your yardage? Mine is just guess work from the past year and a half.. I mean, if at a range how do you know your ball went 280 carry? the balls don't go as far as non range balls do... the only way I think think of getting an accurate reading would be hit a should on a golf course and then walk to your ball and laser it back to where you shoot from (get your friend to stand there). But even that would get anoying after a while.. so how did you guys figure out your yardage

I can't wait to get out on the course with some of you guys if we have that OG.Com tourny, some of these yardages are pretty crazy and to be honest I haven't played with ANYONE who hits a 8i 170-185 yrds or 3 irons 230-245, 315-325 average carry distance......is your name Bubba? Some of you guys must be really bad putters because these are pro distances, or just wishful thinking. Like I said I will super impressed if we get to play and I'm not saying that I'm super good or anything but I would love to see these types of distances in real life.

My posted yardages are approximates.. .easily give or take 5 yards on certain ones, as the increments in distances aren't 100% evenly spaced for me..

ex. I can remember how long my 54, PW, 7i,6i,3i,2i went and guestimated/used 'best fit' to plug in the rest.

During the season last year I used a laser to check distances, this year I am planning on using GPS as it will be faster.

I did mine on a launch monitor and then from course play. I find driving ranges hard to tell because you can't go out and check were YOUR ball really is, unless you are a brave soul or covanant is hitting then just stick to HIS left!!!
