    True Temper TX Tour

Anyone have any experience with these shafts at all? I'm going to reshaft my irons.....again and i'm trying to decide what to go with. I'm torn between the tour concept chromes, tx tours and the rifle tour flighted. I hit a pretty high ball with my irons so i'm looking to bring them down just a bit. Any help would be appreciated. Average 5 iron carry is 195, play to a 6 handicap.

Didn't try the Tx Tours but I did have the TX 90. They are very fast shafts. Quick on the face and they hit very high. Being a light shaft, they do hit it higher then the rifles. If your trying to bring the flight down I would say go with the DG SL in s300 or X100. They are lighter shafts but are supposed to play like the DG 's or to a stiffer/ heavier like the Rifle Flighted. 6.0 or 6.5 or even 7.0 Padraig Harrington puts 7.2 in his irons to make sure the ball doesn't balloon on him.

IMO, i say stay away from the TX's. They're ok but I snapped 3 shafts last year. they have very thin walls. They must have corroded and they snapped real quick. Just my 2 cents.

    John,

I had the same problem as you and reshafted my Mp-30's with a set of Flighted FCM 5.5 Rifles. The results were pretty dramatic. The long irons stayed high and boring, mid irons lowered and became more flattened and the short irons have a less ballooning effect.

You may want to consider a set of those.

The TX series is a very light shaft, condusive to a higher ball flight. A heavier and stiffer shaft might be th e way to go,but if you really want results, you guys should stop trying to control the height off your ball flight with a different shaft. The answer lies in the design of you clubhead. That is where you will you will your desirered pattern.
