Tip for the day, from Joel.

A common fault among players who are inconsistent is watching the club head go back during takeaway. Watching the club go back will not help the swing in any way. and actually cause you to make an adjustment with your eyes that is very difficult. Focus on some part of the ball and swing while holding that focus so that nothing else creeps into your mind.

    Cheers, Joel

How about focusing, IN PRACTICE, on the inside quadrant of the ball as this will encourge the essential inside path on the downswing. In time this will become a subconscious habit
Then, when you play, focus on anything non golf related, and just swing.

Thanks for tha image! In a golf lesson series I took many moons ago, he had me do that and it helped.
But I forgot this swing image a long time ago. I always liked it, helps.

Yes. I look at 4:30 and imagine the face contacting that point. In doing so I feel that my arms will move back, down and then out to the ball, when the downswing begins.

If golfers look at the back of the ball, 3:00, and are successful in squarely hitting that spot, the ball will hook.
