3 Wood - Steel Shaft
Hey, I just picked up a new 3 Wood w/ a steel shaft in it... Going to get it reshafted w/ my irons this weekend, but will be leaving it in steel.
I'm keeping my graphite shafted 3 wood for the time being as I think they will both see some use depending on the conditions.
I've read and heard that a steel shaft will reduce the height, allowing you to keep shots under the wind. Just wondering if anyone is currently playing a steel shafted 3 wood, or if anyone has 1 of each that they switch between.NCGT Ryder Cup Team Green (06,07,08)

Nate,
I have a steel shafted 3W and 5W (Wilson Deep Red 2 with DSG300 shafts). I really like the steel shaft and find my shot dispersion has narrowed. As far as trajectory, I seem to think it is a bit lower too.
Only drawback is that the club feels heavy at times. and the regular Flex DSG shaft seems too whippy. Maybe it is becasue of its length vs. weight. For reference I play regular flex driver and stiff irons.Proud member of the 2009 Ryder Cup winning team
