Golf show: Won a Florida golf vacation...
Anyone see the putting contest (near the demo area) - its $5 to enter and if you get 3 of 5 putts in you win a trip to Florida--well I got 3 of 5. Its sponsored by Merit vacations.
Has anyone won anything like this before, or has anyone dealt specifically with Merit? I'm wondering if there's any gotcha's or restrictions I'm not aware of. The Merit rep is supposed to be calling me this week to discus the details.

I saw the booth and never made a putt although one did hit the back of the cup

Does that mean you have lost your amateur status?

BTW, I played the putting game. How the heck did you make 3 balls? I was close with every putt but didn't make any. You should be on a putting tour or something.

I was told it includes air, accommodatin, golf, and car rental. The person in charge at Merit was not available, I was told that we would be contacting me. I requetsed his name and number in case I didn't hear from him. I'll keep everyone posted...

congrats
Good for you. I tried it and I missed the first and then sunken 2 in a row. After making 2/3 the nerves kicked in as I started thinking about the $25000. Lipped out my 4th ball and then left 5th one 3 in. short - dead centre.
I seriously considered going back an dropping $100 for 20 cracks at it. I wonder if you could use your own putter?
How close did you come to the big cash prize?
p.s. did you look at the hole - it was smaller then regulation, maybe 2/3 size.If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

The hole was also lopsided. All of my 5 putts had a great chance of going in, and all but 1 missed. If the cup was regulation, and even, then I think there may be many of us on here talking about the Florida vacation or the 25,000. To the lad who did win the vacation, good on ya

Well, 3 full days since and no call from Merit. I'll be calling the rep today to find out what's up. Disappointed that no one at least called to say hello&congrats.

I did a quick search.com for any feedback on them. Usually if someone is not legit you will come up with postings saying so from people. Found not one article. that at least, is a good sign.
