Tip for the day, from Joel.

Well, I need to get back to the tip of the day.

If most of your shots fly low, you may have a posture problem. If you tend to bend to much from your waist or flex your knees too much, you will have a flat swing plane. Try to stand more erect with a straight back and a slight bend from your hips and just a break in your knees. Your swing plane will be more upright and will produce shots that fly high and straight.

    Cheers, Joel

What do you consider to be a "FLAT SWING PLANE?"

Looking at YOUR golfer from the down the line view, and drawing a line from the ball through his right shoulder at the top of the backswing,(Turned Shoulder Plane) are his hands ON, ABOVE, or BELOW this line, and which of these do you consider TOO FLAT?

Or, in coming down when the hands are just below waist high, and having a line drawn coinciding with the shaft at address(Shaft Axis Plane) are his hands ON, ABOVE, or BELOW this line, and which of these do you consider TOO FLAT?

We need to know what plane you are referring too in order to understand what plane you consider too flat. The two planes described above seem like reasonable starting points.

other possibilities: face closed with outside to inside swing; ball too far back in your stance; hitting thin shots due to a "scooping" action; incomplete follow thru resulting in a "knockdown" type of shot (not necessarily a bad thing).
