I know I do...
I'm 6'2'' and have been fitted. I play best w/ 3/4 inch extension in the shafts.
That being said I do not believe that all taller people need longer clubs. I tihnk you really need to be fit to your swing.NCGT Ryder Cup Team Green (06,07,08)

Has nothing to do with being taller. The taller you are, generally the proportions of your body increase as well, including longer arms.
As I understand it, has more to do with your stance.
Callaway told me I am very upright, plus tall, so added a half inch, and bumped up a degree or two."Chicks dig me, because I rarely wear underwear and when I do it's usually something unusual"

I have played sets that were 1/2" under to 1" over and I always come back to standard lengths. I'm about 6'4", so maybe I have long arms. I'm not sure if that is it but I feel most comfortable, and strike the ball best with standard length clubs.

I was under the impression it was waist height.
Some folks are taller from the waist up etc..
As well as arm length.
I could be way off, seems like a trick question from the

I know on the Ping site they ask you your height and wrist to floor measurement. But I'm sure depending on the fitter there is many parameters they'll ask for to get the right fitting clubs for someone.

That's why I change clubs, much easier than changing my arms.

Ok. The first parameter is wrist to floor measurement. But it does not mean that if you are tall that you need longer clubs. Some taller folks may even need shorter clubs. That being said most taller golfers are comfortable with the long irons. It's when they get down to short irons where they have to crouch and bend over for a more comfortable feel. One solution is to build the set in 3/8 or or 1/4 inch increments instead of the usual 1/2 which means the wedges will end up longer than standard for a more comfortable posture. This set up is mostly for tall/short arm player

I'm just under 6'6" and play clubs that are 1" over. Similar to Geoff I've played lengths from standard to as much as 1-1/2" over and settled one +1"...
With standard the 3-6 irons were great and 7-PW were not so great. At 1.5" 7-PW were money and the long irons were very awkward. Felt like they should be 5* flat to be comfortable...
I wish I could feel comfortable with standard clubs, it would save me a lot of time at the workbench (and waiting for someone to adjust lie angles since I don't have a loft/lie machine).
Then again I like working on my own clubs so I shouldn't complain.

Longer clubs.
Height only plays one factor in determining what length you need. You may be tall but have a short torsel in relation to your legs or arms. Or you may have short arms long torsel, short legs, long arms etc.
The OEM industry would lead us to think that they are basically 2 lengths of clubs ladies and mens, 3 to four flexes ladies and seniors, regular and stiff shafts that fit everyone.
And you propbably realise from buying driver after driver that one company's flex rating is different form anothers.
I have seen 6'6" guys bust the club at the hosel with so called off the shelf match set of irons. If you have to bend a club more then 2 degrees after a fitting, chances are you are in less then 10 percent that fall in the grey zone where there is an exception to the rule.
There are as many possibilities as they are golfers so it is best to be measured and fitted by a club fitter who knows there stuff.
I hope this helps,

I'm 6'5" and have only ever played standard length clubs. I have abnormally long arms, though, so I figure it evened out. I'm more concerned with lie angle. I guess I'm going to have to bite the bullet & get fitted, I'm just waiting 'til my swing is in its june rhythm.

Yes "KickerOfElves" you are absolutely correct about most static fitting charts (based on wrist to floor and all the rest) vary and there is no fixed standard or measuring tool.
A experience builder will know how to adjust for the required length to the top end or bottom end of the club fitting measurement tool which can be adjusted in the proper increments and thus really zeroing in and lessening the amount of adjustment on lie angle or completely eliminating the need to even adjust the clubs after assembly.
Thus applying the old addage once the proper length is determined " If it ain't broke, Don't fix it"!.
I hope this helps!

It all has to do with the length from your wrist to the floor, standing up.
Mine is 37.25 inches and my irons are extended 3/4 of and inch. What comes into play with your height is the lie of the clubs. for instance, I'm 6'3" and with my height and wrist to floor combination My irons are 1.5 degrees upright.
There are charts all over the internet.

The rest of the bucket was garbage...
So, the jury is still out, but I'd have to say that the Wishon method is at least as good, and seems to be better, for me than going standard +1".
