    Cleveland ''diadic'' question.

    What does DIADIC stand for?

(example linked... Cleveland 588 53* DIADIC wedge)

I believe diadic is greek for dual as in dual purpose wedge. It could mean dual as far as either sand or gap wedge or dual purpose as in fairway or sand. Your guess is as good as mine but I heard that it's a very good wedge to have in your bag.

    Ironmaster,

You've hit the nail on the head with your definition. "Diadic" is Latin for DUAL and was used by Cleveland on their 53* 588 series of wedges. Kinda of their unique way of naming their gap wedges.

I know this is an old post , "Dyadic" means being part of a group of two. On the original 588 53-degree wedge, Diadic was used as an indication and reminder for players to play a "Dual" or "Gap" wedge in addition to simply playing a sand wedge.

I thought the "diadic" on the wedge meant it was dual purpose, enough loft for gap wedge and enough bounce to be an option out of the sand. I don't think I was a reminder to buy another wedge.

Wow, old thread. I still think this was the best wedge i have ever used. Ton of confidence chipping with it around the green. I didn't realize it was only for the 53 degree.
