Just got back from the golf show...
I don't know, I'm not 'wowed' by the show at all. It just seems to be the same old same old. The parking situation is brutal too, that's annoying. I'd rather see more companies have booths with their new clubs, clothes, etc.
Maybe it's best to just go once every two years instead. Wonder what the Toronto is show is like.Donny Vantage NFL Guru, since 1974

I really only go to the show for the green free coupons. I expect the same year after year, but the coupons more than make up for the admission cost.

True, but if you are looking to make arrangements for a golf trip it is a good place to start. Lots of info there to choose a good trip. But it does tend to lack in the equipment portion.

Yep, I'd be happier with more equipment and clothing. There aren't too many golf destinations we don't already know about. I think there was just one destination that I'd never heard of... in New York. A golf resort and casino. Can't remember the name.

That's the place. Might actually go there this spring and check it out. Poker and golf, two of my three favourite activities. The other is watching NFL of course!!!Donny Vantage NFL Guru, since 1974

I went in there after work and it wasn't very good. The demos are very limited! Some Cally, Adam, Tourstage and a wee bit of Taylormade (3 Drivers and about 10 other clubs). Bridgestone had a canopy with Tourstage but no clubs! The coupons are not very good either, almost all are Monday to Friday or even Monday to Wednesday with lots of limitations and this year there were barely any 2 for 1's being given out. The parking was as always brutal! All the stores are selling old crap that nobody wants, which is fine if you are having a clearence event, but the golf show shuould be the place to showoff all the new stuff and get people pumped about the new golf season and maybe even buy your new driver for the new season. Glad I went today and got it over with and didn't drag my wife there for extra coupons because this year it wasn't worth it!

Couldn't agree more. This does nothing to get me excited at all. At least I picked up some bathroom reading! LOL!

I'll bet a few club Hos on this site could collectively throw as good a party to rival the Golf Show this weekend.

I think its worth it just for the coupons. But if you happen to visit the T&L booth, which I made add is just a stones throw from the Ottawa Golf booth. Be sure to check out their golf ball prices. Picked up a dozen TopFlite Strata TL-Tour for $30. Sweet deal.

The 10 bucks is worth the green fee at Upper Canada alone, but as far as a golf show goes, it's pretty crappy!

Did anyone happen to notice which courses are in the lineup for the Ottawa Citizen this year? I was hoping it would be in the paper today but can't seem to find it.

That's some sad news to hear and with so much of his life ahead of him. Never like hearing about those things.

It is very good.
Every major manufacturer, with all new clubs in all different lofts/shafts etc etc to try at a real indoor driving range.
Almost all, set up with a swing monitor for recommendations, and freebies galore if you buy right there. SOme gave away for example, free baby ben putter with driver.
Really good if you ever make it. It happens next wknd in toronto on the 12th on."Chicks dig me, because I rarely wear underwear and when I do it's usually something unusual"

I cant understand why the big guns are never there?
Also picked up a new putter grip from ScottyCameron(thanks again Scotty!)
Very good if a golf trip is in the making.
I wont mention any names but, dont bother if youre looking for new gear.
The highlight for me was the Artificial greens people. Some really cool stuff!Dirty...Mean...And Mighty Unclean.

I just got back. Had a very good time hitting some of the sticks that were available. The best for me however each year is meeting other folks from OttawaGolf and friends from various golf course.

We went today and it wasn't bad. Easier to move around than in years past. I was specifically looking to talk to certain people, but it really has taken on the travel aspect of the Golf and Travel Show. Lots of golf destinations, and very little in terms of equipment. It's good to think about golf in early March though!

I go my money's wortth at the show because the junior CPGA display is giving away Yo-yos. And the real authentic yo-yos. Brought back a lot of memories....and you should see the look on people's faces when I am waiting in line at the beer store with my new yo=yo
