    removing graphic - steel shaft

I broke a Taylormade steel shaft iron shaft on Sunday.

My replacement a True Temper 90 gram stiff flex shaft has an ugly graphic that I would like to remove since the OEM clubs do not have this.

Question: How do I remove the grapghic; steel wool, acetone, heat gun, blow torch, buffing wheel?

    Thanks

Do you mean a TX90? 2 options. Either you install it with the graphics down or you remove it with a carpet blade(X-acto)

Oh. So an exacto knife will remove the ugly graphic without damaging the chrome?

    Thanks..

Yeh - it is a True Temper TX90 shaft. Is this the same as the 90 gram OEM stiff shaft on a OS Taylormade iron made in 2005?

I can';t find the right ferral; the hosel on these clubs has a machined grove in the top which I have not seen before. Normal ferrals in .370 don't fit???

    Thanks..

Weird. First off unless these clubs have been reamed the shafts are tapered. A .370 ferrule will fit though. I reshafted a few TM recently no problem Where do you live?

    Special ferrule

Just pulled a TM hybrid shaft. Now i know what you're talking about.

OK thanks. I went to my local Golfsmith store and they did have the correct ferral either. I'll order some from the web.

    Thanks.

PS ...they measured the old shaft and inside OD of the hosel. According to Golfsmith, the Taylormade OS RAC irons from 2005 have a straight 370 shaft.

Could be. If you don't want to buy them off the web just drill or ream ever so slightly the inside part of a ferrule. Good luck.

That etching on the shaft will come off with steel wool. I would'nt attempt it with any kind of blade for fear of scratching the shaft.

Never had any problems. Actually it comes off pretty easily. it does not scratch anymore than a grip tape remover(you could use that as well).
