Skymark/ Paint chipping repair
I ordered what was supposed to be a brand new mizuno mx-500 driver on ebay and I got it and it had been hit a little and there were paint chips on the crown of the club. I was furious and contacted the company, they agreed to give me half my money back and I would get the paint chips fixed. But, I need to know where to get the marks fixed...does anyone have any ideas of places in Ottawa that do that kind of repair work? Also, this may be a stupid question but paint chips shouldn't affect the playability of the club right..because there are no holes or gouges on the crown, just paint chips. Please let me know, as I would like to get it fixed/assessed fairly soon so that if it can't be fixed for some reason, I can get a full refund on the club. Thanks for your help.

Where did you buy it from? I am an ebayer and I am sure we all would like to avoid this. Sorry you have to deal with this kind of shady buisness. I know most golf retailers can get the club refinished but it may be costly.

Thanks chieflongtee, but places like Golftown and Chuck Brown won't do this kind of work? From what I've read it seems really expensive to get it refinished, when I all I need to patch it up. Any other thoughts.

You can usually buy touch up paint on Ebay to fix your clubs, but I have no idea how it turns out.

i have a black toyota and had purchased a paint pen for it for small touchups. I tried it on one of my clubs and it worked great. All you need is a steady hand and a little patience. I applied it right on where the face meets the topline. From a couple of feet away, you couldn't tell.
I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

I think it looks pretty good actually. You have to look twice to see that there was a skymark. Anyways, it was a quick cheap fix that really didn't cost me anything.

I,ve seen people use black markers before. Does not show from a distance but you can definitely notice it it from up close.

the Tyalormade web page has a "service" tab that has a Q&A. One question is about this topic; they suggest an outside third-party shop that does this work.

There's a guy on ebay that posts a dozen or so different touch up paints, but also lists that he can get any color...they are all set @ buy it now for 12.95...might be worth looking at:
