My new book's in, my new book's in!!!!!
My wife just called me to tell me a package just arrived from Amazon.com
The Search for the Perfect Golf Club, by Tom Wishon.
Geoff, once I'm done you can borrow it .
Anyone else read it and find it insightful? I've read a fair bit of it on the GEA, and participated in several discussions of it with Tom, who is a member of the GEA. Seems like it is THE clubmaking book right now.The opinions expressed in this post are mine and may not necessarily reflect the opinions of others on OG.

I read it twice. you are going to have a hard time putting it down. A real eye opener.

and two more.
Tom will also have another book(let) out this year called, "The Search for the Perfect Driver."
Those of us who do a little club making should compile a list of questions that could be asked of the salespeople of our local retailers, when golfers are looking for clubs. Perhaps if these salespeople had to know the answers then perhaps the customers who choose NOT to be properly custom fitted by a competent club maker, would be able to select clubs that would be closer to an ideal fit. I sent a buddy over to GT today to ask a few questions and I am anxious to see what the responses were.

Gt
BC Mist, that is a great idea, it will be very interesting to see what info he comes back with from GT. I for one have been laughed at by golfing buddies to have spent money a few years ago on getting custom made irons and woods. Again when I went to a launch monitor for a driver fitting. They have gone through countless equipment changes (so many more than myself) and they now realsie that there is much more to buying equipment than picking up the hotest club and taking it on the course. They now ask a lot of questions before they decide to make a purchase.

I am abidextrous, I once golfed right-handed and now I shoot left-handed just as badly!
