CPGA Professional
How does one become certified as a CPGA Professional?

you need to pass your playability (which you can only go for if you work full time in a proshop)
once you pass that you need to pass a few courses, and put in your years of service (3 years @ a pro shop)
Once all the schooling is done, and the 3 years in the shop & the playability is passed (shop years don't count until your playability is passed) you become an A class professional.
Passing just the playability will also give you cpga status, but not make you an A class.
i think i covered everything there...NCGT Ryder Cup Team Green (06,07,08)

You need a business diploma from a recognized institution, doesnt have to be golf management in particular but you do need formal business training to get it. It's also 2500 hours under your pro i believe.

position does not have to be in a pro shop..just at a golf course where you are overseen by a cpga pro... I was a starter, marshal, bag drop and cart attendant all before I turned pro..all those years counted toward my eligibility.
The year you turn pro counts towards your 3 years as an apprentice, so then you need so many seminar hours and have to take the courses and tests after the 3 years to become class A.
www.cpga.com has all the info.
