I don't want to come in here and raise more questions about the reality of this project. But the opening date of Fall 2006 is impossible to meet if they are still searching for locations. I work at an architectural/engineering design office and deal with this stuff day in and day out. This project would be closer to 2 years away if not more after site approvals, design documents, permit application, tender & construction. I was involved int he design and construction of the new soccer dome at algonquin college. That was 4 years in the making. Sorry but I am not getting my hopes up.

Now is the time of the year when I am thinking about a winter membership at an indoor facility. Last year I purchased a membership at the Superdome http://www.superdome.ca/

This year I would consider purchasing a membership at the "proposed" new golf dome which was forecasted to be open in the Fall of 2006. Does anybody have an update on the status this dome?

The Superdome, which is on Bearbrooke Road, has been up since Oct 2004. I was an indoor golf member there last winter. The Superdome is set up as a driving range from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm during week days only from November to April.

My query for a status report is targeted at the proposed New Ottawa Golf Dome, a dedicated facility to golf. The people associated with the proposed New Ottawa Golf Dome conducted their survey in Feb 2006. See the link at http://www.enoph.com/Golf.html According to the link, they were intending to open Nov 2006.

Does anyone have information about the status of this "proposed New Ottawa Golf Dome"?

As a member at the Superdome last winter was there much of a lineup for the hitting stations?? Do you actually have 300 ft (100 yards) to hit, and with the higher lofted clubs can you still get some distance or do they strike the roof??

    I agree K D.

Because the SensPlex is between home and work for me I have already signed up - plus you save $50 if you pay before Nov1.

OK Folks--just talked to the guy from "the new Ottawa Gplf Dome"---seems like they were just doing a feasability study. They had all kinds of ideas but I dont hink there was much thought put in before all the talk got started. Again a great idea but who is going to pay for it--for the start up costs etc there is no way that a one use facility will ever exist here--sorry. The large on at Louis Riel is part of the Provincial School Board so there is no private money invested, the one at Landsdown Pk I am pretty sure is partly city operated, the Hull one went bankrupt; so where does that leave a one use facility--it would take some pretty deep pockets--

I live in the area, so the hours are fine by me. Looks like the clubs will be living in the trunk a while longer.
