HONMA equipment
I was just wondering if anyone else has heard of HONMA clubs and if so why the heck are they soooooooooo expensive. I was just browsing the Golf Town website and ran into their iron set. Priced at $5500 !!!!!!

Do they not actually use gold in the clubs? I might be mistaken but I thought I heard this somewhere. Someone can correct me if I am wrong.

Gold is a soft metal. But unless they use it on the face to give your shots a softer feel, I can't see where else it would be of benefit. Unless it is a cosmetic thing only!!! And I don't think I saw gold plating on the face...

Geoff, to the best of my knowledge, you are correct.
These clubs are for those elite, rich players. For certain i know Trump and Marc Anthony use these clubs and i am sure other rich guys do also.

Hardly ever. But as for the gold I meant as a cosmetic accent here and there. I thought I read that somewhere. Would be the only reason I could see them being so expensive. But like I said, hopefully someone can answer this for us.

You can find a few used honma clubs using ebay's golf club finder, and they weren't too expensive, however I think the honma-type client is not too inclined to buy a used club. That plus I have no idea what they're like.
