    Very sad news(for me anyway)

    Dear MERCURY Client,

As you are all aware 2005 was a very difficult year with the escalation of pricing for the preferred raw graphite which is used in the production of MERCURY shafts. MERCURY GOLF has absorbed a great deal of these increases whenever possible in order to maintain it's stance on providing an excellent quality product at a fair price.

It appears that the supply of raw materials for the manufacture of graphite shafts is continuing to be in short supply. Sadly the raw graphite MERCURY has utilized for years in it's manufacturer of graphite shafts is no longer available at this time and for the foreseeable future.

Lesser quality raw materials have been offered, however with the continued threat of escalating costs coupled with the thought of providing a lesser quality product is not a path MERCURY will consider.

After 15 years in the golf business MERCURY will cease manufacture of graphite golf shafts. We've enjoyed a wonderful run in the business of golf and deeply appreciate the support and friendship offered by all we have met.

MERCURY will continue to replace warranted shafts for as long as inventory remains available.

    Our best regards to all,

    MERCURY GOLF

I have always thought that their prices were too low for the quality they offered.
