Whats in the Bag.. Photo Edition

Ok so I have tried and my pics are too big... does anyone know how to make em smaller to upload here.. Maybe we can't do this here??Proud Member BigJohnnys Ryder Cup Team '08

There is a patch you have to downlaod, I think it is on the Windows website. I think it was Dan who told me about it. If you do a search, i think i called it how do you upload pics or something along those lines, you should find the answer that I was given. Mine works now.

To get your pictures smaller, 1st of all ensure that they are JPG's (incase you have Bitmaps or something else that's not compressed).
TO make them smaller you sdon't need any fancy programs...any editor will do (including microsoft paint, which can be found in your accessories folder in your start menu)
here's the steps for using Paint since everyone will have it:
open the file in paint (regardless of what format it is in)
press control+w (or click stretch/skew under the Image menu across the top)
now change the 100%'s to something smaller, until you get the size you need (keep the %'s the same so that you can retain the aspect ratio of the image)
now select 'save as' from the file menu, ensure you choose 'jpg' in the file type and you are ready to go.
I'm not sure what the max kb's / image is on this forum, maybe Dan can let us know.
p.s. my bag will be posted shortly

As an alternative to uploading attachments to the site, here's what to do. Upload your photos to a free image hosting site like photobucket.com, or some other. Google 'free image hosting' and you'll get tons of sites. Once your pictures are uploaded, they each have their own URL. The reason I like photobucket is that it lists the URL under each picture for easy copy and paste. So, when you want to post the pictures in a thread here, pick the spot in the thread where you want to put them, then use the 'insert image' button (part of the format functions in the places where you enter text on this site). It's the little square with the mountains in it, right beside the 'insert link' function (the earth with the chain link). When you click the button, it asks you for the URL. Simply copy and paste the URL from your picture on the hosting site and voila.
Dan may have some comment on this. It saves him from having to host large amounts of data on his server via attachments, but it also increases the amount of bandwidth because the pictures are generally bigger. Anyway, I try to keep the pictures I post in the 500x300 pixel size so as not to overwhelm screens or bandwidth. Photobucket allows you to adjust photo size on site.Last edited by spackler; 01-09-2006 at 10:28 PM. Reason: took out the irrelevant picture

Covenant
Holy Crap Covenant, I just sold an identical bag and I had almost identical clubs, all lefties of course. It would have been cool to meet on the course by chance and see the same bag and clubs!!
