    Driver search

Me and some friends of the golf team want to buy a gift for a good friend , we thought a driver would be a good idea, to replace his old Titleist 975j. He uses the driver really well, and is very strong , so we thought of a heavier shaft ( he has a EI 70 ). I found on ebay a Ignite 460 with diamana 83 selling for 310$, and a R5 TP with diamana 83 for 450$. Both are new ( i won't offer a used thing ). Which one is best, as the last Taylormade driver i had was a R540, and i only hit a R7 with a stock shaft, so i don't have no idea of what it can be. Neither for the Nike, never hit a Nike Driver on a course. As they have the same shaft set on it, which one would you take? I need to buy it before Wednesday. Thank You

The Nike with the Diamana is an excellent combination. It's good enough for Tiger. I have an Ignite/Accra T60 combinations and have NEVER hit a better driver.

Personally, no contest. I would go with the R5 TP. I had this, and it was the best driver i have ever hit, i know the Diamana would only make it that much better. I personally didn't like the Nike Ignite, found the head to be too bulky. Would strongly suggest the R5 TP, unless you are gonna buy a "Tour" head, go with the R5 TP, has tested as the best "retail" head on the market for ball speed!!

Yes we think he wants a 460, personally i won't hit a driver over 400. I'll think about it then. Thanks. I need another suggestion to know which one is the best.

"as the best "retail" head on the market for ball speed!!"

Actually, it is not. The Orlimar 420 HipTi holds that honour.
