How do you mark your golf ball?
Just thought I'd start another thread to keep us from going stir crazy!! The question is how do each of you mark your golf ball to identify it as your own and how long have been doing it that way. maybe even what's the coolest marking you have ever come across?..................... I mark my golf balls with two circles around each number, kind of looks like a bulls eye. been doing this for about 8 years, also have a line from spinning the ball in a chec-go.

OK, I'll bite. I'm at work and bored. I mark my golf balls with two markings. One is the number 69. It has been my number for any sport team I have been on since minor hockey. The other is the letters G L J.
The neatest marking I ever saw was a pro who had his ball done up like a soccer ball. Kind of neat but I'm sure I'd get tired of looking at that for a while."A life lived in fear of the new and the untried is not a life lived to its fullest." M.Pare 10/09/08

I put a point between the Titleist logo and the number.

Dan, That's one pretty cool golf ball, how many did you have to get made for them to put on the logo?

Well for some guys like John Daly, it's useless because his ball is the longest one.

Why being so bad with him, i think players that play for the show should be liked for it, the Pga tour only exists because people are watching the show, without show, these events may not exist.

I saw one of John Daleys golf balls 2 years ago when he gave one to a little kid standing next to me at the 84 lumber tournament. Had that lion logo with the various colored maine and the type of ball was a so/lo which kind of surprised me that he would use such a low compression ball. His drive went 320 yards, carrying a bunker about 280 yards out. Ya, I was checking the length of everyones drives with a rangefinder. (inquiring minds want to know!! (ha, Ha,) I definitely have no life.)

I ususally use a black line, on either side of the lettering, and try to buy the 5,6,7,8 dozens rather than the 1,2,3,4, (althought the superstitious may fear the high numbers) my best was writing "stolen from Andrew Rowat" (me) all over the ball, which was quite distracting, and I lost that one before the round was over.

Nice way for not taking it.

Wouldn't it be funny if your in the woods and you find a ball and on the ball it says "If found please return to such and such, address such and such.... I think I would return it just to see their face while I'm standing on their front porch with a ball in my hand and I'd probably ask " was there a reward involved? " )

When it's a ProV1, i always take it. When it's another kind of ball, cheap or what, i only take if it is in a good condition so i can sell on ebay.

I write my initials "MFM" in a rather large (some say scribbly) kind of way on both sides of the ball. Above the brand on one side, below the number on the other. It's big enough that it will be seen no matter how it lies on the turf. Colour depends on the day.

I always use Titleist NXT Tours, and strike a red line through Titleist Logo
