    I play a 54 & 58...

My PW is a 46 aswell.

You need a Gap wedge for this setup

Personally I prefer 46/50/54/58 to 48/52/56/60 ... I find the 58 has no problem matching all the heihgt I could ever need, and those 2 extra degrees on the SW make it that much more versatile.

My only current complaint is that there is too much bounce on my 58 for the types of courses I normally play, but that's not relevant to the lofts...

I play 54 with 10 degrees of bounce , and 60 with 4 degrees of bounce. It's a really nice setup, and for the gap, don't be too anxious about it, hit your PW a bit softer, it will give it a better contact , lower ball flight , and more accuracy.

    that depends....

personally, I need the gap wedge. I hit a PW (45) about 130 yrds. I don't much like hitting a SW (56) off the fairway since it has so much bounce to it. I have a 51 Deg Gap wedge that I hit about 100 yds. I can gear down the PW to a degree, but if I didn't have the GW, I'd be in big trouble.
I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

Well, that's the challenge of golf, there are 1000 differrent types of shots with each club, that's why i sometimes go and play a round with a 3 wood, a 7 iron and a putter. 45 i really closed loft for a PW, that's normal that you have to take a GW, but with a 48 PW, its ok to jump to a 54 or 56 degree wedge.

    I'm a four wedge guy, 48,52, 56, 60.

My 56* sand wedge has the most bounce, I think it's a 10* bounce.

For me the reason I went to 4 wedges is it gives me the most flexibility inside 120 yards, which is my nominal 48* distance. The variety of bounce angles also gives me options around the greens.

Ultimately, if you can find a setup you're comfortable with don't worry about whether it's three or four wedges.

    P.S. Don't forget, a 48* PW is really a 70's 9-iron.

well 75% of your shots are made around the green or less than 150 yards. That means these clubs are really important. It's so fun to see people looking for the perfect driver, and putting with a bad stick.
