    Just fell in the cup

    Hi ,

i have time to waste during wintertime, so i think i can be useful here.
I am 17 almost 18 and i live in France, near Paris. I play at St nom la breteche, where there used to be the Trophee Lancome, European Tour tournament . Unfortunately, they stopped it 2 years ago, and hopefully i saw Retief Goosen win the last edition. I've been playing for 5 years now and i reached quite a good level. I'm known as the golf geek , because i always care of gear. Change my shafts really often and my clubs evey year. If some people are coming in Europe , i know many golf courses in Spain, Ireland and Scottland( you may know them too ), and of course in France. The game is developing really fast here, and only 5 years ago it still was an "elite" sport. Hopefully, Tiger Woods helped this game really become a sport here. I play as often as i can, i'm addicted to the game, this summer i played 100 rounds of golf, and i'm part of the golf junior team. Next year, i'll be 18 which means i change category. If there are some people of my age here, just email me. I can speak french and spanish too.

When applying the Rules, you follow them line by line. You don't read between them.

Nice set of sticks Bucky. You will find that many on here are equipment crazy and it's not hard to find someone willing to shoot the breeze about new gear.

Merci beaucoup. Thanks a lot, happy to learn i can about gear, without people saying :
" 100% of the game is skill , equipment is useless"

    Actually it's 100% skill and 100% equipment

Seriously i don't just think of that, i like to improve my game, i can manage to hit some great recovery shot, and play wherever the ball falls. I'm very meticulous in that way.

I don't really have time to follow what's happening on profesional tours , instead of majors, but this year ( 2006 ) i'll be able to watch TV a bit more.

    welcome...

actually I was just in Paris last week for work. Didn't get to play an golf unfortunately.

Spent Sunday touring the Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower. Stayed up north of the city though near the Casino in Enghiens les Bains. First time there and quite enjoyed it.
I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

Yes , it's a nice city. But it's been snowing last weekend, that didn't prevent me from playing , only did some practice, for sure... The best time to visit Paris is summer, not a lot of people, and you can play golf. But France has lots of nice places to stay, the best place to play golf is South West, near Biarritz, where you will find top golf courses, French Riviera is nice, but don't come in summer, it's overcrowded, april may june and spetember october are the best months , and this area is quite warm during these months. You'll find beautiful golf courses there, but quite expensive...

Although most of the members here are in the greater Ottawa area of Canada, every once in awhile someone joins who is from far away.
    This is pretty cool!
Welcome Bucky. Will look you up if ever in france, which will probably never happen.. but as James Bond said "Never, say never, again."
    Cheers , Shark.
