    Santee South Carolina

Any suggestions on which courses to play (or not to play) in the Santee, South Carolina area?

    Santee

If you go there you have to play Santee National and Santee Cooper, also Lake marion (they were redoing the greens last year so this year they should be great). Those are the 3 courses that are right in town (2 min drive). If you don't mind driving 20 min play Wyboo (link style course).
    Thanks
    Claude

    santee golf

as long as you are going to golf and nothing else santee is ok...any of the above mentioned courses arent bad...but be warned, there is absolutley nothing else to do in the area...no movies, even the factory outlet mall was almost empty..so its golf and then sit around in the hotel room....there are some good restaurants and one i think is called the lonestar...if u like bar bque u have to go....you would probably be better off with myrtle beach, hilton head or pinehurst....

    Santee Golf

I went last year, great if you have a group, they treat you like a King at most places, the golf courses are not usually to busy. Florence SC is another good place to go and is usally cheaper than Santee. I found the last time I was in Mrytle Beach was like playing golf on the 401 in Toronto during rush hour. You spend a lot of time rushing for breakfast, driving to the courses only to line your cart up and wait for a 5 to 6 hr round.
