Air Canada - what's in the bag

I'm planning on taking a couple of golf trips this winter and noticed this on the Air Canada site:

    Golf clubs
A golf bag containing no more than 14 clubs, 12 golf balls and one pair of golf shoes. The bag and clubs must be fully enclosed in a hard shell container specifically designed for shipping. If otherwise packaged, the item(s) will only be accepted with a limited release form (to be signed at check-in), releasing Air Canada of liability.

Thought it was kind of funny that you can't bring more than 14 clubs and dozen golf balls. Talk about sticking to the rules

My wife and I were not made to sign on our trip to Myrtle last spring - either on the way there or back.

I did cheat though - I had 15 clubs and 2 dozen golf balls. On the way there, that is - I had less golf balls on the way back.

I'm surprised it doesn't say "Your clubs need to be USGA conforming and clean too."

Air Canada never counted the number of clubs or golf balls I brought when flying with them. They did check the content a little bit though in Ottawa but didn't count.

They didn't even noticed the large bag of rocks I had put in my bag on my way back from St-John. I was bringing back those flat rocks back from New Brunswick for the center pieces for our wedding.

I just flew on Tuesday through Air Canada. My 15 clubs in my soft travel case with numerous balls, jackets, two pairs of golf shoes and one pair of golf sandels were not even looked at! Certainly no form was signed.
It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others.
