    Game 5 NLCS

For the life of me I can not figure out why Phil Garner allowed Brad Lidge to pitch to Albert Pojols with 2 out, 2 on in the Top of the 9th when the Astros had a 4-2 lead. With Sanders on deck why not walk Pojols? I would have walked Pojols in a heartbeat. No way would he have beaten me with that homerun.
To me that was a bad mistake by Garner and it will come back to haunt him if the Astros fail to win the series.
    Your thoughts?

Pujols' past stats against Lidge wasn't very good. IMO, it was basically a poor pitch by Lidge....a slider that stayed up in the strike zone unlike the 1st slider which dropped out of the zone. I didn't watch the game until the appearance of Edmonds in the 9th. Personally, Lidge should not have walked Edmonds....as he was just the tieing run. Nice to see Pujols take the slider out of the yard like a storybook ending.

I have to afree with you Dave that Lidge made the mistake of walking Edmonds. However with a hitter like Pujols at the plate, (regardless of his past stats against Lidge) they should have walked him. Why take a chance that he will strike out? Big time hitters can rise to the occasion and that is exactly what happened. he hammered that pitch, it got out of the park quick
Lidge got the first two outs with ease, then it looked like he was over throwing on the next two batters. Too fired up.
Oh well Game 6 coming up, we'll see what happens.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a ball hit that hard. Wow.
