Someone help me with my Pool

I need to take 9 forwards, it can be anyone

    so far I have

    F-Ilya Kovalchuk
    F-Jarome Iginla
    F-Rick Nash
    F-Marian Hossa
    F-Jaromir Jagr
    F-Pavel Datsyuk
    F-Martin St. Louis
    F-Markus Naslund
    F-Milan Hejduk
    F- sacic
    f- Forsberg
    F- Mario
    F- Heatly
    F-Spezza

I know I'm missing people and I'm way over 9. Goals are worth 2 and assists are worth 1.

Who should I take as my goalie? I have hasek right now, wins are 2 points, loss in overtime is 1 point and shutout is 3 points. I thought hassek because ottawa will win the most games this year....

    For my D I took

    D-Chris Pronger
    D-Rob Blake
    D-Sergei Gonchar
    D-Scott Niedermayer

and as my enforcer I took Chara (would have taken him at D anyway)

What should I submit as my final roster?

    1 goalie
    1 enforcer
    4 defence men
    9 forwards

Rick Nash and Peter Forsberg are recovering from injury and surgery respectively and Ilya Kovalchuk has yet to re-sign with Atlanta.

You should pick a goalie that is likely to play a lot of games and win most of them such as Brodeur (in 03 he played 73 of 82 games). Hasek is unlikely to play that many.

as a goalie, i would keep hasek. It is true that Brodeur will play a lot this year, but i just don't see them winning that much this year. I would even look at a guy like Kipper from Calgary or Cloutier. Vancouver is gonna win a ton of games and he play a lot as well.

What is the difference between "enforcer" and "defensemen"?

Can you pick a forward as an enforcer or do they need to have scored less than a certain number of goals and logged a certain number of PIMs in the last NHL season to qualify?

Chara as your enforcer?? That's a weak pick. He's too important to their offence to fight. Take Jody Shelley, Kristof Oliwa, Andrew Purintan, or even Chris Neil.

Goalie - definitely Brodeur. He's the best goalie in the world, bar none.

    Forwards -

    F-Jarome Iginla
    F-Marian Hossa
    F-Jaromir Jagr
    F-Pavel Datsyuk
    F-Martin St. Louis
    F-Markus Naslund
    F-Forsberg
    F-Heatly
    F-Spezza

    Your "D" is fine.

    Forwards:

    Bertuzzi and Naslund
    Hossa and Kovalchuk
    Spezza and Heatley
    Iginla
    St. Louis
    Jagr

    These would be my choice...

No point taking Kovalchuk. He's signed a multi-year deal in Russia. Under the new NHL CBA he has until mid-Decmber to sign with the Thrashers, and cannot play a single game with his Russian club in the meantime, or he can't come back this season.

Oh yeah, BTW don't take Purintan as your enforcer. The league just handed him a 10 game suspension for his antics in Boston on Saturday.

He got 15 minutes in penalties in the same altercation (the goon trifecta). 5 for spearing, 5 for fighting, and a 5 minute match penalty for attempt to injure (he tried to gouge the guy's eye out in the fight). This guy is psycho.

As your enforcer, take a serious look at Brian McGrattan from Ottawa. If he sticks with the big club, he'll be fighting TONS....

I believe you should also take Alexei Yashin as one of your forwards. I expect a big season from him playing alongside Satan.
