Question Regarding Mercury Shafts
Ok since a lot of you guys build clubs, switch drivers once a week and shafts more often than that I want ask for your knowledge.
I have pretty well always stuck with the stock shafts in my drivers. However I want to switch to a bit stiffer driver shaft with a mid kick point.
I have hit a driver (Titleist 983 10.5) that has a Grafolloy Blue 63 G Stiff in it. I liked the ball flight.
I currently have a knock off of the 983, it has the bore thru shaft in it. Grafolloy Pro Elite R. I want to switch shafts in it.
Now I have heard some good things about Mercury shafts and some bad things. Does anyone here use those shafts? If so what Mercury shaft would be comparable to a Grafolloy 63Gram Stiff?
Any help would be appreciatted. I have looked around for a used Blue but can not find one as of yet. It is not a big priority as the season is almost over.
Thanks guys

Talk to Jim Klassen at Kona. He is the best at answering your questions. He actually has an Excelsior shaft(Saphire) with similar playing characteristics than the Blue and it sells for less than $30. I have Mercury steel shafts in my irons. Unfortunately Mercury decided not to make their steel shafts anymore. I have found a good replacement though.
