    Apollo is a brand name.

I have Apollo Balistik shafts (U.K. manufacture) which are steel seamless, stepless shafts.

The shaft is the most important and critical component of the golf club. Ben Hogan said the shaft was 90% of the club. Steel golf shafts can be made from either seamless or welded tubing.

A welded tube is made from a narrow strip which is formed into a circular cross section and then welded along its length. As formed the geometry of the welded tube is irregular in the weld region and must be dressed smooth. This is relatively straightforward on the outer surface but much more difficult to achieve in the bore. Often a weld "bead" is left in the bore which can result in the finished golf shaft having a variable wall thickness which affects its flex integrity.

Seamless tube is made from a solid billet of steel which initially has a hole pierced through its center and is then progressively reduced in diameter and lengthened by hot rolling over a mandrel. Precision seamless carbon and alloy steel tubes are renowned for their integrity, strength and one-piece reliability.

To my knowledge, Apollo is the only manufacturer of seamless steel shafts.

    (evidently they have no website)

Apollo golf was purchased in 1996 by Coyote Sports group of Boulder Colorado.

Apollo shafts are available from all major distributors.
