    Glen Abbey

My Dad played Glen Abbey on Saturday, and apparently the greens are so bad that they have been scattering green-coloured sand on them to create the "appearance" of green grass. Also, they are still charging full price, and there are currently 4 temporary greens and one temporary hole!!

All greens are now open and are looking pretty good.

The new greens are a little "HAIRY" but they roll just fine!

Played from the REAL Tips on Wednesday!

You talk about humbling! Add 10 strokes to your game!

Glen Abbey will have a new Super in 2006. The current Super at St Thomas Golf & Country Club, AKA UNION will be moving to The Abbey in the spring. Union has hosted the Early Bird Amateur for years. Ryan Beauchamp has been the Superintendent at Union for the past 16 years. I have played that course about 7 times over the past 5 years and it is always in great shape.
So I would expect Glen Abbey will be well cared for in the future.
Here is the link to the newspaper article regarding this move.

My opinions are my own, I do not follow others.

I don't know anything about the previous superintendent, but the guy from St. Thomas is a great guy. I have played the course many times over the last 2 years and the course has always been one of the best courses, condition wise, that i have played.
