    Removal of Ferrules

Is the only way to remove a ferrule is to "cut" it off?

If you are not taking the clubhead off, yes, you must cut it off.

It is sometimes possible to get a ferrule off the shaft if the club head is off but it usually results in a mangled ferrule (and the occaisional finger) which renders it unusuable.

If you want to save a ferrule, then you have to carefully cut it off and then put it back on and epoxy/acetone it back to shape.
