The point is that the ditches ARE the GUR. They are not natural ditches. They are in the process of installing pipes and covering them.

At the time this incident occured at le Sorcier, the score card indicated that the ditches at #17 (there are 3 of them) were considered GUR.

How is it that a 4 hour project to install weeping tile got printed on the scorecards?

These are pretty big pipes. The ditches have been there all season. They are on several holes on the course running the full length of some holes. They should be filled by next season since the installation of the pipes is now underway. Remember that this is a brand new course and the drainage / irrigation system is just not finished yet.

So it is just lack of planning.
First thing this year is dig huge ditches down the length of each hole to collect balls.
Last thing this year is to fill the ditches.

I imagine it's pretty expensive. In a perfect world we'd get what we want when we want it

Ditches fall within the definition of a Water Hazard. My dictionary says 'a narrow channel dug to hold or carry water
Call them trenches instead. Trenches are not a water course, they are dug to allow pipes or cables to be laid (or to fight wars).
