Teeing off in water in woods ruling?
Someone told my fried that they are hitting 2 off the tee if
they take a second shot if the first resulted in an out of bounds
or in the water ball.
If you hit your tee shot out of bounds in the woods or in the
water off the tee shot are you now hitting 3 off the tee or
2?
If you don't like the lie of your tee shot can you take a second
attempt and be shooting 2?
Cheers,
BC

If your tee shot is out of bounds, you must play another ball from the teeing ground under penalty of one stroke.
If you don't like your tee shot, you may declare the ball unplayable and play again from the teeing ground under penalty of one stroke.
If your tee shot is in a water hazard, you may play again from the teeing ground under penalty of one stoke.
In all cases, you would be hitting 3.
