discounts on new clubs??
i'm looking to purchase new clubs from chuck brown. i was wondering what kind of percentage there might be in their marked price for any possible mark DOWN on the clubs?
the clubs (TM irons) i'm interested in are priced at $999.99...no sale price...no promotion...just $999.99.
from pass experience, can anyone let me know if they lower the cost or would they just throw in stuff (i.e box of balls)?
cheers!

You gotta come up with a really brilliant reason why they should mark your stuff down. If you're buying a single set of clubs, and nothing else, you're probably out of luck, the price is the price.
But after dropping your $1K, if you want to buy other stuff, they might be persuaded into a deal since you spent so much.
My advice is... don't expect them to be sympathetic, but give it your best shot.
The thing is, that a lot of guys walk in and buy stuff off the rack at the printed prices. If you want a deal, you have to buy the sale stuff, or wait for your stuff to go on sale. Otherwise, they're doing fine and don't need to cut you a deal to get the merchandise moving.spidey

....and the TM irons never go on sale. They've been $999.00 for years and years.

Discount
Your best bet is to speak to the manager at CB's. I like their staff and have bought clubs where they have knocked a few $'s off.

thanks for the input.
very tough to near impossible to move on the price of the new clubs.
however, was given a good price on my old set and they did throw-in a box of TaylorMade TP Tour balls.
like the sales guy said " this is a product that moves well without
having to discount the price".
i think i have seen some TM equipment on sale but that is only during their annual feb. sale (last year stuff).
cheers!
