    Question Re-Gripping

    Hello all,

Could someone recommend the best tools to use to re-grip clubs? Clamps, etc.

All you really need is a rubber shaft clamp, which goes into a vise or workmate, and a utility knife. If you're going to be regripping graphite shafted clubs, make sure you get a hook blade so you don't damage the shaft.

The Golfworks sells a couple of different models of shaft clamp. If you're only doing your own, then the cheap one works just fine.

You had better be careful. Eighteen years ago I learned how to regrip my own clubs with the result that I now build/assemble clubs, spine shafts and frequency match shafts, read all the technical information I can get on club making and shaft technology, offer free advice on the Ottawa Golf forum, make clubs for other people and unfortunatley, have a garage and workshop filled with experimental debris, even after giving dozens of clubs away to local high schools. It's a sickness, I tell ya. You might want to reconsider.

    regripping

Golfworks sells a kit for about $30 that gives you the solution, The tape, a knife, tape removal scraper, a hook knife kit, the rubber clamp and a gizmo to help you slide teh grip over fat shaft, Good value for money.
Also their grip prices are chaper than the stores.
I was able to regrip a full set of irons in a few hours

That allows time for at least a couple of cold pops while i am pondering my new fantastic swing with the new grips. ( Which only lasts until I get back onto the course)
