Another player teed off the ball
Last Saturday Ive played a golf tournament with three other player.
One of them hit the ball close to the flight in front of us and
they were visibly annoyed about that however they teed off the ball and went away
Now my question
1. What should we do?
2. Could the player get a penalty stroke or two who teed off the ball.

I would have asked to have him DQ'ed from the tourney after we were done, for being such a baby, but as far as I can tell, the following would apply as a refinement of Rule 15-3 (Wrong Ball).
In stroke play, A and B drive into the same area in the rough. B finds a ball and hits it into the middle of a deep water hazard. A finds a ball that turns out to be B’s ball. No other ball is found in the area, so presumably B played A’s ball. B incurs a penalty of two strokes under Rule 15-3b and he must play his own ball. What is the proper procedure for A?
A. Since there was reasonable evidence that B played A’s ball, A should place another ball at the spot from which B played the wrong ball, without penalty — Rule 15-3b. (Revised — Formerly 15-3/1)[URL=http://www.sportsfiend.ca/]Sportsfiend.ca - Make You Opinion Into News...

I know Gary doesn't approve of quoting decisions but this seems to fit the bill exactly
D 1-4/4
Q. A is nearly struck by a ball played by a player in the following group. In anger, A hits the ball back towards the group. Has A played a practice stroke or a wrong ball?
A. No. However, in equity (Rule 1-4), A should incur the general penalty of loss of hole in match play or two strokes in stroke play.

Hitting a ball back to the offender is just dangerous. I 'd agree with a DQ. If the ball were hit into the woods, then the penalty strokes would be enough.

Nothing in the original message indicates that the ball was hit back in the direction of the group. Hence, my question of a DQ under what rule?

I have a question: How come your group teed off while they were in range?
