Pronger to Edmonton?

Chris Pronger gets traded from STL to EDM in exchange for Eric Brewer, Jeff Woywitka and Doug Lynch. EDM then signs their new stud to a 5-year deal at $6M per season.

Okay, never been a big Pronger fan, but it's nice to see the small market teams going after some big names. I'm really enjoying this offseason.... Almost makes the whole lockout thing worthwhile!!

I don't get the logic of this trade from the Oilers perspective.
Of course Pronger is an excellent and proven defenseman but he's 31 this year & they have traded 3 denfensmen to get him. Brewer (26) is a top 4 defensemen on pretty much any team, Woywitka (21) has great potential, and Lynch (22), who probably has the least potential of the three, but could be a tough, solid defenseman in the coming years.
Pronger is great, but trading Woywitka is something I think the Oilers will regret in 3-4 years.
